Good animes from 80s , 90s and early 20s.

List of older animes that are highly enjoyable.

Original title: Tenshi na Konamaiki (2002 - 2003)

Also known as "Cheeky angel".
It's a reverse harem, shounen anime with comedy and supernatural elements and gender bender, mostly focused on school life.

Main character is called Megumi. He used to be a rather normal kid. He enjoyed getting into fights, and one day he did so in order to defend a wizard who was being attacked by bullies. As a reward he received a magical book who was meant to grant a wish. Megumi wished to become " a man among men". Unfortunately a mischievous demon inside a book turned Megumi into a girl.

The only person who knows
all about that is Megumi's friend who witnessed the entire situation, even his parents think that he has always been a girl!

Main event of the story takes 5 years after the encounter with a wizard. Megumi is now enrolling into high-school and he is trying to figure out how to become a guy again.

****

It's a very hilarious and addicting story with some plot twists. All characters in it are great. It's an anime worth checking out. It has 50 episodes.

Ranma 1/2 -  (1989 - 1992)

Ranma 1/2 is a comedy, romance shounen anime with gender bender , arranged marriage and material arts theme.

Ranma has a big problem : he is half woman!
While he was training in China he fell into a strange magic spring at Jusenkyo.
Now he is eternally cursed to change into a beautiful woman whenever he is hit by a cold water.

Also he haven't fell into it alone. His father also did as they were training there together.

Although his father was knocked into the spring of drowned panda. Due to the nature of Jusenkyo curse, a victim who falls into the spring is cursed to turn into who or whatever drowned there when splashed with cold water. That's why his father is turning into a a giant panda after every contact with cold water!
Now the question is who is in a worse situation xD

The important fact is that hot water turns any Jusenkyo-cursed character back into human.

If that wasn't enough of a problem for our main character, his father has betrothed him to marry!

There's never a boring day for Ranma as he attempts to find a cure for his curse, train to become stronger, and trying to overcome the fact that half of himself might be more feminine than his fiancée. Ranma contains 162 episodes of fun! There are also 2 movies and special episodes.

Hikaru no Go (2001 - 2003)

It's an anime about Go (Game). It's a strategic board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. Pretty unusual theme right? It's not as boring as it might sound though.

The main character is twelve years old Shindo Hikaru. One day he was examining an old go board in his grandfather's basement, when all of a sudden he gets possessed by the restless spirit of Sai, an ancient go master who has waited for over one thousand years to play the hand of god : the perfect move.

Sai convinces Hikaru to act as a vessel for making his moves, but it is soon clear that Hikaru also enjoys Go and wants to play his own games.

Not to mention that the rules of Go have changed
since the Sai's time, and go players from all over the world are now much stronger. Having had the benefit of hundred of years of evolution and experimentation by the masters before them.

Can this unlikely pair form a successful partnership and rise to the top of the Japan's Go community , and can Sai finally play the hand of god and find some peace?

It's a shounen anime based on manga about body sharing with supernatural elements focused on tournaments. It can be also considered as psychological anime.

Throughout the episodes main character gains a rival and comrades. It's a nice anime where we can observe development of the skills of main character's after fails and victories. As well as development of relationships between characters. For example at first main character and Sai didn't get along well but it changed throughout the series.
